You know how it goes. You’re building it up your style. Maybe you’re pacing, maybe you’re flexing and tightening up, maybe you’re glaring at the bar like it just beat up your sister. Maybe you’re doing all of those at once. Inside of you a pool of raw energy builds up, a certain disembodied rage that would make Chuck from two cubicles down shit his pants. The warm ups have you feeling nice and smooth. The build up sets were explosive and your form was flawless.
Volume way up, your max out song reaches its climax. Your heart is pounding and your body, with a will almost detached from your mind, itches to blow shit up.
You slide under the bar, tighten up and get situated… then BAM it’s on.
Damnit I love that feeling!
Whether you’re going for a rep max or a weight max, you gotta get in that zone. The Zone is all about attitude, about wanting to kill something or someone, about getting your body to tap into that power reserve that only intense anger and life saving desperation seem to activate. The Zone is about doing 2-3 more reps or 10-15% more weight than you could if you just walked up ho-hum and started your set. In the realm of continuous big gains and breakthroughs, The Zone is God.
I have found that there is nothing more capable of getting me in The Zone than Max Out Music. For me, I’ve got a solid rotation of songs that I go to when I need to get pissed. Not just pissed, but pissed off in a climactic, world ending, fuck-everyone way. I might be the least angry dude you’ll ever meet but during that set I am someone else. Some of the songs are just pure, distilled anger the whole way through while others have a climax that builds and builds until the riffs change or the bass drops. Regardless, these tunes get a ton of credit for getting me where I am today. A hurried day with the headphones left on the kitchen table is enough to re-affirm that every time.
If you’re looking for some Max Out Music of your own or want to expand your lineup, you have to check these songs out-
This is one of my favorites. Way aggressive, angry undertones, and two drops in the beginning if you want to build up The Zone even more-
I hit a rep max with this bad boy just yesterday-
Near non-stop thrashing with nice pauses that are perfect for getting under the bar-
Not so much angry as much as the best build up/drop ever. Wait all the way until 1:26-
The first song of an album titled “Deathhammer”. Self-explanatory-
This should be good enough for now- any more and I’ll crash this page. Try them out, you won’t be disappointed. Unless Adele is more your style, in which case I’ve got nothing for you.
I’m always on the look out for new Max Out Music. I’d love to hear some of what you guys are bumping when it’s Zone time- you can never have enough.
