Are Zinc and Krill the new super pills?

After reading the discussions on Roosh’s Forum and seeing it talked about during twitter I decided to mess around with mega dosing with Zinc. The manosphere was buzzing about the testosterone boosting
effects of increasing your daily intake of Zinc. The positive side effects I kept reading about was huge boners and heavier loads when you orgasm (a good thing?). You know how every guy likes to walk around with a huge boner and the ladies love getting splashed… ah never mind. I got my hands on Nature’s Plus – Mega Zinc, 100 mg, 90 tablets . According to the label each tablet was 667% over the daily value. I decided I’d be safe and take two a day. Before doing so I did my research (i suggest you do the same as I am not a trained doctor or professional) and articles like this one basically linked back to the same two or three studies showing groups for rats and athletes who mega dosed on zinc tested positive for 50% higher testosterone. Meanwhile a control group the free testosterone levels went down by about 20% after prolong exercise.

Being that this is that time of year where I basically try to maintain and my workouts are more high rep low rest time I figured I’d give it a try. In two weeks I noticed a difference. My regular energy
during the workday was higher than normal with no lag time in the afternoon especially after lunch. It seemed that the day just goes by almost too fast. I’m resting really well and falling asleep faster. My high reps (8-12) low rest times (1 min to 1 1/2 min) have improved. Specifically the lactic acid / soreness during my workouts decreased. At first I would get soar half way through my workout but after the
two weeks on Zinc, the soreness didn’t kick in till the last set and sometimes not at all. Oh and by the way, boner was about the same size, but a few women were lucky enough to get that round two and
three with no problem after a long night of boozing (more on that later)

While I was at it also heard great stuff about Krill oil, The supposed new cure/prevent everything except for AIDS pill that’s been blowing up the internet and other men’s magazine sights. Now I used to take regular fish oil back in the day to help with natural testosterone conversion, help alleviate and reduce joint pain, and help repair skeletal muscle. Well supposedly Krill oil is like fish oil on steroids. So I went ahead and got me a couple of bottles of Schiff MegRed. The first thing you’ll notice is it’s more expensive than regular fish oil but once you do your own research and see how it blows fish oil out the water the price is not so bad.

Krill is a shrimp like crustacean that is fed upon mostly by larger animal whales, seals, and penguins for energy. Krill oil supplies Omega 3 fatty acids (docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and
eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)) that are more easily absorbed  from krill than in regular fish and have a more positive effect on the brain. So this tiny little red pill (yeah I did that on purpose) does much MUCH more. It also reduces the risk of heart attack by keeping cholesterol at healthy levels, has an anti-inflammatory property for your cardiovascular system. Rich in antioxidants like Astaxanthin that protects your skin against UV rays. And some studies have shown that Krill helps with depression and personality disorders. The lists of positive benefits found in this tiny pill seem to go on forever. Personally after taking it for so long I’ve been more focused at work and myskin/face is drastically less oily during the day than before I took it.  I have really bad tennis elbow in my right elbow that hasn’t bothered me for some time. Other results are hard to measure on my own
like low cholesterol or how the DHA and EPA are working out for me.

So these are my pill combinations. One major side effect that I found that I think is because of the zinc is my alcohol tolerance increasing drastically. Two weeks in on the cocktail I drank six Heinekens, four
jack and cokes and a few shots different shots and was barely buzzing at the end of the night. Usually I’d be blacked out. The next day my hangover was just a minor headache that went away after my first meal, water and taking the pill combination. I would like to firmly remind everyone that this is what happened to me and there are no studies I found backing up the claim that any of the two pills has
this effect. I also read on the Zinc discussion a few other people being able to handle higher alcohol consumption, so as far as surprised side effects go, I’m not going to complain about this one.

If you want to try a good natural pill combination try these two. At the very least increased energy, more focus during work and your workouts, for some better recover after your workouts and nights out partying. I would recommend taking the zinc for no longer than four to six weeks on and an equal amount of time off. Nothing wrong with taking Krill daily and I’m a firm believer in its benefits. If you’ve taken either of these supplements below and have your own story or results to share please let me know, I’m interested to see how it worked for anyone else.

Zinc is a really great supplement.Especially in combination with magnesium (ZMA). I realllly love it and i can definitely feel the effect on test levels. Research about calcium inhibitng zinc absorbtion is contradictory (isnt it always!). But my experience is that its better to avoid calcium around time you take zinc/magnesium.

Krill oil is also real good because mercury levels are alot lower than normal fish oils (if your worried about that.)

Been taking zinc, vitamin D and fish oil, not krill oil, for about a month now and have seen a very big improvement in my lifting and all around fitness and recovery times.

Also, gotta vouch for you on this one….went out Friday night and drank my face off and was barely even feelin it after 2 tequila shots and 2 rum and cokes. I agree it brings that tolerance up big time. Good post, man. I’m glad you posted the actual supplements as I was wondering what they were.

If you eat enough zinc, magnesium, selenium, vitamin B complex and vitamin C, do not drink too much alcohol and caffeine then you do not need to worry about DHA and EPA. You liver will do it for you. All you need is something like that

You got a follow up to the zinc dosing? Positive/negative effects? Or maybe something that you would do differently.
